It is known that metallic aluminum was not produced by humans until about 200 years ago, so a discovery made in 1973 in Romania – but recently just released – of an object that could have 250,000 years old is Considered an important finding by the scientific community, reports the newspaper ‘Mirror’.
The piece of metal was removed from the ground on the banks of the river Mures, near the Romanian city of Aiud, and was later examined. According to the evidence, the object is composed of 12 metals and 90% aluminum. The find is 20 centimeters long, 12.5 inches wide and 7 inches thick.
The fact that the object has concavities produced a debate about the possibility that it has been part of a more complex mechanical system, such as a UFO, which could indicate the visit to the Earth of an extraterrestrial civilization in the past.
But there are other versions. For example, historian Mihai Wittenberger claims that the object is simply a piece of metal from a German WWII aircraft. However, this theory does not explain the antiquity of the material.
