A crocodile spends the night in a police station
A two-meter-long crocodile burst into a Sri Lankan police station for the night, causing police officers to escape in the open air to catch the daring reptile by wildlife specialists.
The crocodile penetrated through the back door of Nochchiyagama police station, located 190 km north of Colombo.
«The police evacuated the premises» and «no one was injured,»
People in the region are accustomed to elephant attacks in villages in remote areas, but a crocodile had never been in a police station for the night, the source said.
The crocodile was left in the hands of the local wildlife protection services, and so far the police have not brought charges against it for its improper intrusion.
